Monarchy kick off Spring with 2 gold medals
SPRING SEASON OPENER · TOURNAMENT REPORT
Monarchy Rules the Easter Eggstravaganza
Easter Weekend · Spring 2026 · First Tournament of the Spring Season
The Monarchy Hockey program opened its spring season in emphatic fashion, bringing home two gold medals and three runner-up finishes at the Easter Eggstravaganza tournament — a dominant performance across multiple divisions that underscored the organization's depth and competitive drive.
From hard-fought overtime battles to an all-Monarchy championship showdown, the Easter weekend delivered some of the most exciting hockey of the young spring calendar. Across every division, Monarchy teams competed with heart, skill, and the competitive fire that defines this program.
Tournament Summary
Gold Medals
Monarchy Smoke's 16u AA squad put on a clinic in their championship game, rolling to a convincing 4-1 victory to claim gold. It was a performance as polished as any on the weekend, and forward Kellan Bowman was recognized for his standout play, earning tournament MVP honors for the division.
The second gold came from an unforgettable all-Monarchy final in the Midget Competitive division. When Monarchy Stealth and Monarchy Covert met in the championship game, the entire program had a stake in the outcome. Stealth came out on top, defeating Covert 5-3 in a spirited contest. Josh Herrera was named MVP for his commanding performance on the winning side.
Runner-Up Finishes
Three Monarchy teams battled their way to championship games, earning silver medals for their efforts. In 12u Competitive, Monarchy Force took their final to overtime before falling 2-1 in a heartbreaking finish — a gutsy showing from a young group that refused to make it easy for their opponents.
Perhaps the most dramatic run of the tournament belonged to Monarchy Stealth in the 10u Elite division. Staring down a 3-0 deficit, the team dug in and mounted a remarkable comeback, forcing the game to a shootout before ultimately falling 4-3. It was the kind of resilience that cannot be coached — and the kind that sticks with a team for the rest of a season.
Looking Ahead
The Easter Eggstravaganza was everything a season-opener should be — competitive, emotional, and full of moments that remind everyone why they play the game. As we look ahead to a full slate of spring events, this weekend has set a high bar and an exciting tone for what's to come.
We are proud of every Monarchy athlete who competed this weekend. The future of this program is bright, and the best hockey is still ahead.
